My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here the other night, and everything was absolutely perfect. We were seated in a cozy, tucked-away spot overlooking the dining room which was quiet, intimate, and peaceful. The ideal setting for a special evening. Our waitress was outstanding - attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed with everything. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which were incredible. They were perfectly cooked with pine nuts, bacon, and a touch of maple syrup. Itβs easy to get Brussels sprouts wrong, but these were phenomenal! For our main course, we had the filet mignon and the New York strip steak, both cooked to perfection. The vegetables and potatoes complemented the steaks beautifully, and we left feeling full and satisfied. To top off the evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our 4th anniversary, which was a delicious slice of cheesecake that was the perfect finishing touch. Their thoughtfulness really made our night special. Despite the restaurant serving several large parties that evening, service was smooth and timely. Our waitress checked in often without being intrusive. The wine list is also excellent, they offer some fantastic Cabernet Sauvignons that pair perfectly with a steak dinner. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for an elegant dinner or any special occasion. Itβs not only a beautiful dining experience, but the place also has some fascinating history worth reading about!

From the moment you step inside, youβre greeted with a warm, casual vibe that immediately makes you feel at home. On my first visit, I noticed the aroma of fresh-baked bread and sizzling bacon wafting through the air, which already set high expectations.
Walking through the menu, itβs clear that Don's Pomeroy House takes pride in blending classic comfort food with modern twists. Their breakfast offerings are a highlight, especially the fluffy pancakes that are often mentioned in rave reviews by food bloggers and Cleveland dining guides. I personally tried the eggs Benedict, and the hollandaise sauce was rich yet perfectly balanced, showing the chefβs attention to detail and skill. Lunch options are equally tempting, with hearty sandwiches, fresh salads, and daily specials that reflect seasonal ingredients.

According to local food reviewers and online ratings, dishes maintain the same delicious flavors whether you come in on a busy weekend morning or a quiet weekday afternoon. This consistency comes from well-trained kitchen staff and a clear commitment to fresh ingredients. In my experience, even the smaller touches-like hand-cut fries and house-made sauces-enhance the dining experience significantly.
The service at Don's Pomeroy House deserves mention too. Tracy, the General Manager, helped me with my gift card totals and when I found out it was quite a nice chunk of spending money, she joined my joy! Treated my friends to an amazing meal, great service by Grace and fantastic Lemon Drop Martinis! Tracy even stopped by our table to check on us during our meal. Great atmosphere and crew. We ate in the Pub area and it was comfy, casual and highly recommend you check it out
Stopped bye on Tuesday night for the $19 8oz Strip Steak and fries in the Downstairs Bar. Very tasty and a great deal. They have daily specials in the bar.
We celebrated my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. Our server, Autumn, was excellent and the food was delicious.
This was my first visit to the establishment a few days ago. For the most part the food was very good, only exception was the cheese cake. It was not good at all. My mixed drink was way too strong and didn't taste like what I ordered. Beautiful atmosphere and perfect to talk to each other in. Waitress was attentive but overly so. Altho the food was very good for the most part, I feel the prices were very high for what we had. The biggest con was all the stairs! Yikes, 4 flights to get to the restaurant! 2 flights to get to the pub! Would not suggest heels as I did, very scary! Parking is in back and building is up a bit of a hill. All in all we both had a nice time. Lighting was dimmed which was a nice touch. I would recommend at least once! Dress is dressy casual to dressed up.
Eating outside was an absolutely wonderful venue. You eat at small round tables, seating 4 comfortably, each with their own umbrella. The area is surrounded by old oak trees. As it gets darker the area is lit by soft lights. So charming. You can order from an abbreviated, less pricey menu, or the full dining room menu. This is not a place to dine if you're on a tight budget, but we felt it was well worth what we paid.
Everything about this place was incredible. We got Jeff as our server and he was very considerate. He even boxed up her food and threw away the fatty bits of steak she cut off but kept the ones that weren't. Firstly, compliments to the chef. The food was timely, and the steak was the best I've ever eaten, hands down. I got the 16 oz NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. Complete compliments to the wait staff and bartender. The mixed drinks were also top notch. Will be returning.
